Events: Bluewater 10K

The 2007 eventThis exciting event is back for 2008 and will once again be centred around Europe’s largest retail and leisure destination, Bluewater Shopping Centre. It’s an event like no other. Where else can offer a fast 10 kilometre mass participation race followed by unlimited shopping in the UK’s premier retail environment? We believe that this race is going to go from strength to strength and our aim is to make this fantastic event one of the best in the country.

The course: Starting and finishing at Bluewater Shopping Centre, the 10K route will take you out onto closed roads in the beautiful surrounding areas of Greenhithe and Stone. You’ll take in the breathtaking sights of the QEII Bridge stretching across the River Thames and then marvel in the stunning architecture of the Bluewater campus!

On leaving Bluewater for the first kilometre you’ll hang a left onto St Clements Way (B255), until you reach Crossways Boulevard (A206) taking a left at the roundabout. For the next 2 kilometres you’ll run along Crossways Boulevard with the QEII Bridge in your sights. Arriving beneath the bridge, you’ll then take a left at the next roundabout uphill onto Cotton Lane. Here you’ll pass Dartford Judo Centre, the training venue for GB’s Olympic Judo Squad. At the end of Cotton Lane you’ll then take a left onto the undulating London Road (A226) for the next 2 kilometres until you hit the roundabout at St Clements Way. Take a right here and head for Bluewater. The crowds of supporters will then guide you in to the finishing stretch!

Mementos: All runners will receive a medal, adidas technical t-shirt (worth £18) and souvenir goody bag. Water and Lucozade will also be provided after the race.
